Paste a screenshot into a chat, with circle and arrow
AI chat, messenger or support: a picture often explains more than three paragraphs, especially when what matters is already circled. With Screenshot 42 you select, draw on it and paste the image with Ctrl + V, on Windows and Mac.

A circle says more than 42 words.
Screenshot with arrow, circle and text
Below the selection is the toolbar with arrow, line, rectangle, oval, freehand, highlighter and text, plus six colours and a line width slider. Holding Shift turns the oval into a circle and the rectangle into a square.
Everything stays editable until you press Enter: click and move a drawing, pull the handles to enlarge it, duplicate it with Ctrl + D, change the colour or delete it with Del. Ctrl + Z undoes the last step.
Cropping a screenshot
Too much in the picture? “Crop” in the toolbar changes the edges of the image, even after you have drawn. Drag the edges or handles; Esc ends cropping. Whatever is cut off is kept until you copy and can be brought back by dragging the edge out again.
Pixelate personal details first
If names, addresses or numbers are in the picture, paint over them with the “Blur” or “Pixelate” brush before the image goes into the chat. More under Blur a screenshot.
Why draw first, then copy
With Screenshot 42 the finished image is only created when you press Enter. Until then nothing is on the clipboard and you can change everything. So exactly the image you mean lands in the chat, with circle, arrow and text.
